CARE OF SCHOOL PROPERTY
Students are equally responsible for the safety of school property. Chalking on walls or doors in and around the school and scribbling on furniture is strictly forbidden. Breaking furniture or whiteboard is considered an act of vandalism. Any child found responsible for damaging or defacing the school’s property, books, or other equipment, will be fined and the loss will be recovered from the student and the concerned parents. The undertaking will also be taken from the parents for the assurance of not repeating the same.
The school is not responsible for the loss of any article. Please ensure that all belongings of your child are permanently marked with their name and class.
REGULARITY & PUNCTUALITY
- The gates will be closed at 7:55 am sharp for Primary & Secondary and 8:25 am sharp for Pre Primary. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the school premises and will be sent back home.
- School timings must be strictly followed and attending the assembly is mandatory for all.
- Students suffering from an infection or a contagious disease will not be permitted inside the school.
- Students are expected to attend school regularly. 75% attendance of each term is mandatory to appear in the MIDTERM and FINAL TERM Examinations. No excuse will be accepted. In case of absence, a note of excuse from the parents stating the reason should be submitted in advance or should be informed through a telephone call by 8:00 a.m. A formal application must be submitted the very next day. A medical certificate should be submitted for more than two days’ leave during sickness. Attendance on test and examination days is mandatory, as we don’t have the policy of re-examination/test.
- No child is allowed to leave the school during school hours without a proper application that should be submitted to the office in advance duly signed by the Parents / Guardian.
- Students will be allowed to go home with the authorized person only i.e Parents/guardians or van driver.
- In case the identity card or a report card is lost, Rs. 200/= will be charged for the issuance of a new identity card or a report card. If the student doesn’t carry his/her Id card he/she will not be allowed to attend the class.
UNIFORM DESCRIPTION
BOYS: Lemon yellow Shirt (with school’s monogram), Dark Green Trousers, Tie with lining, black shoes with white socks.
GIRLS: Lemon Green Check Kameez, White Shalwar, White Duppata / Dark Green ‘V’.
ART: Dark GreenApron should be worn for Art/Clay Work. (Mandatory)
P.T UNIFORM
BOYS: Students’ House T-Shirt with School’s monogram and white tennis shoes.
GIRLS: White shalwarkameez& their House T-Shirt with school’s monogram and white tennis shoes.
WINTER UNIFORM
BOYS: Lemon yellow shirt with school’s monogram, dark green trousers, tie with a linning, dark green coat with school’s monogram.
GIRLS: Lemon green check kameez, white shalwar, white dupatta / dark Green ‘V’ and dark green coat with monogram.
Dress Code
- Students should wear a neat, clean, and well-pressed uniform. It must be worn with clean under garments. T-shirts are not allowed under school shirts as briefs.
- Shoes must be well polished
- Nails must be regularly trimmed, filed and cleaned.
- Boys should keep their hair short and neatly combed. Girls hair should be neatly braided with a black hair band or black clips only. Hair must be free of lice and neatly plaited.
- No other jewellery item is allowed except for small simple studs. Wearing gold is not allowed.
- Wrist watch should be simple and black in colour only.
- Applying henna is not allowed.
- Any sort of make-up is strictly forbidden.
- Dying hair is prohibited. In case of dyed hair, the student is required to wear scarf.
- If students are on leave, they must come to school in uniform if it is necessary for them to visit the school for any reason.
BANNED ITEMS
Following items are strictly banned within the school premises:
- Cell Phones
- Cigarettes, Pan, Gutka,
- Chaliya (betel nut)
- Drugs of any kind including medicine
- Foreign currency
- Rs. 500 or more in cash. (if lost nobody will be held responsible)
- Digital and electronic devices: Camera, laptop, digital watches/gadgets.t.c
- Fire Crackers
Flash disks, DVDs CDs & USBs (other than course-related material) - I-Pod, tablets, Stereo system &headphones.
- Applying or bringing nail Polish, henna, perfume, etc.
- Cosmetics and compact mirrors.
If any student is found carrying any such item(s), the article would be confiscated immediately and a parents-administration meeting would be called. Possession of such items may even result in suspension.
A student may be expelled on account of disregarding the school rules/instructions, irregular attendance, objectionable moral influence & disorderly or unseemly conduct.
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
Child Assessment is a vital and necessary component of all high-quality early childhood programs. Classroom assessments may serve a diagnostic purpose, indicating students’ strengths and weaknesses in specific areas of learning.
Our school academic year comprises of two terms i.e; First Term and Second Term. There will be two assessments in each term .marks obtained in the assessments will be added in the First Term and Second Term exam reports.
In order to be promoted to the next class students must secure 50% and above in their examinations.
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE For IX-XI
There will be examinations prior to the examination of BSEK & CAIE i.e; Preliminary Examinations and Mock Examinations. Kindly note that the school will not issue admit cards and statements of entry if any of the students attended less than 75% of the classes or secured less than 75% overall in the Preliminary Examinations / Mock Examinations.
Also note, that to get into the Cambridge stream students must secure 70% and above in their examinations.
MEDIUM OF COMMUNICATION
The English language is the main medium of communication at DM. Our Skill Development activities strengthen the speaking & presentation skills of our students.
HOMEWORK DIARY
For revision and reinforcement of class work & advanced reading of chapters, regular homework assignments will be given. Parents are requested to sign the diaries and supervise while children complete their homework. A published school diary is provided to each student. The homework diary is a means of communication between parents and teachers. Verbal communication between parents and teachers is discouraged. Parents must write down their messages in the diary which the class teacher shall check and take immediate necessary action.
REMEDIAL PROGRAMMES
At DM, special attention is paid to slow learners. In this regard teachers and parents work together to ensure significant improvement in such student’s performance. Parents should cooperate with teachers to overcome their child’s weaknesses, if any, resulting in extra attention to their wards.
CLASSROOM RULES
- You are only allowed to converse in English with the teacher as well as your classmates.
- Switch off lights and fans when leaving the classroom. (Think Green, Live Green & Go Green)
- Listen and respect the monitor, prefects, and Student Council.
- Don’t scribble on the desk. Keep your surroundings neat and tidy.
- Teasing, name-calling, and swearing are unacceptable.
- Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Take care of your personal property.
- Show respect to your school and school property.
- Have all appropriate supplies at your desk and also respect each other’s possessions.
- Walking around during class is not allowed.
- Keep your classroom tidy and clean.
- When you have completed your work, find something constructive to do.
- Remember to say “please”, “thank you” and “I am sorry” to each other and to the teachers.
- Raise your hand and ask permission from the teacher before you speak up or get up from your seat.
- Be polite, helpful, and respectful at all times.
- Follow directions and obey all school rules.
- Use appropriate language at all times.
- If any student misses class, they are solely responsible for getting and completing their assignments.
- Make sure your uniform is proper at all times.
Spitting & throwing trash on the floor is not allowed. Always throw trash in the dustbin. - Eating during class is not allowed. Strict actions will be taken otherwise.
Remember only a civilized person gets respect from everyone not the uncivilized. So, prove yourself educated and civilized.
LIBRARY RULES
- Do not write, underline or mark any book. Library books are carefully examined on return and the borrower will be held responsible for the damage and will have to pay for the book.
- Complete silence should be observed except for brief and subdued talk with the library staff.
- Report lost books or other materials to the library immediately to stop overdue fines.
- Ask for help from library staff if you are unable to find your required material.
- Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library or else will be confiscated and will not be returned.
- All books and periodicals must be returned to the shelves after use.
- The rule of silence must be respected and antisocial behavior will not be tolerated. Offenders will be required to leave, and repeat offenders will be banned indefinitely from using the Library.
